Reports have emerged that both Manchester United and Chelsea are considering making an approach for Real Madrid defender Ferland Mendy.
The France international has recently fallen out of favor at Santiago Bernabeu, and could be ready for a move away from Los Blancos.
While coach Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly still assessing his options, it remains to be seen whether Mendy will continue to be a regular starter next season. Manchester United are well-stocked in the left-back position, with both Shaw and Malacia vying for a spot in the starting lineup, while Chelsea recently broke the bank to sign Cucurella from Brighton, but the Spanish defender has yet to make an impact at Stamford Bridge.
Despite their struggles at the left-back position, both clubs have other pressing needs that will also need to be addressed. Whether Mendy will consider a move to a club where he may not be a first-choice defender remains to be seen.
