Injury updates on Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey, and Smith Rowe for Arsenal’s match against Leicester

Back to normal at London Colney, where Mikel Arteta keeps getting ready for Arsenal’s game against Leicester City. On Saturday afternoon, the Gunners will come to the King Power Stadium to defend their spot at the top of the Premier League table.

Manchester City is in second place, but Arsenal has a game in hand and is two points ahead of them. So, now that the current champions are behind, Arteta will want to build on the exciting win over Aston Villa.

Emile Smith Rowe is back in the starting lineup, so the Spaniard could do it. The graduate from Hale End was on the bench at Villa Park, but he didn’t play.

Smith Rowe is getting closer to being fully healthy, so Arteta might give the midfielder his first start of the season. So, with that in mind, football.london has looked at all the latest injury news from the Emirates Stadium.

Jorginho

Jorginho did a great job for the Gunners against Aston Villa, and his goal in stoppage time got them back on track with a win. The Italian didn’t show up to practice on Monday, but it was said that he was just taking a day off to give himself more time to heal.

Expected return date: Leicester City (A) – February 25

Bukayo Saka

Saka was limping in the second half of Arsenal’s game against Villa, and it looked like he couldn’t keep going at one point. But he kept going, and Arteta has since given a positive update, putting an end to rumors that the winger is hurt.

He didn’t train on Monday, but that wasn’t because of a serious injury. Instead, he took the day off to rest and get better.

What Arteta has said: “He’s good. He was kicked a lot again today. But he’ll have to deal with that, not every week but every three days and sometimes even in practice, because it’s his game and teams aren’t stupid and want to stop him. So, we need to keep him safe.”

The expected date of return is February 25 in Leicester City (A).

Thomas P.

Partey missed the game against Manchester City because of a muscle problem, and he hasn’t been back in the matchday squad since. The 29-year-old is likely to be out for a while because he hasn’t been seen training in recent photos posted by the club.

What Arteta has said: “We have to look at him again today. He felt a little bit of pain in his muscles. We have to look at him and see how he is this morning.”

Eddie Nketiah

Since taking over for an injured Gabriel Jesus, striker Eddie Nketiah has done a great job, finding the back of the net often. He also didn’t show up to practice on Monday, but that was because he was given an extra day off before coming back to play Leicester City.

The expected date of return is February 25 in Leicester City (A).

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Oleksandr Zinchenko has been an important part of the team since he came from Manchester City last summer. However, he has had some trouble with injuries, which has been a worry. Given the situation, the fact that he didn’t show up to practice would be a worry. However, on Monday, he and a few of his teammates were given the day off.

The expected date of return is February 25 in Leicester City (A).

Emile S. Rowe

Smith Rowe’s season has been rough so far because of a problem with his groin. The 22-year-old has only played in five Premier League games so far this season. The talented playmaker did come back, coming on as a substitute against Tottenham and Oxford United.

But he wasn’t there when they played Manchester City in the FA Cup.

London knows that he hurt his thigh and was taken out of the game as a precaution. He also couldn’t play against Everton, Brentford, and Manchester City because of this problem, but he did make the bench against Aston Villa.

He didn’t go on, but on Monday and Tuesday he was seen training.

The expected date of return is February 25 in Leicester City (A).

Gabriel Jesus

Jesus hurt his medial ligament while playing for Brazil against Cameroon in the group stages of the World Cup. He went back to London to have surgery on his knee, which is expected to keep him out of football for at least another month.

Last month at the Emirates Stadium, Jesus told former UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov that he hopes to be back on the field in “four to five weeks.” The 25-year-old gave a new update on his health on February 1 by posting a picture of himself back on the training pitch on Instagram.

He later posted a picture of himself running on Instagram with the caption “After eight weeks.”

What Arteta has said: “Doing great. He’s been working on the ball a lot already, and his recovery is going well. In terms of a time frame, unfortunately, no. If you ask your doctor, he might give you one.”

March 2023 is when they plan to come back.

Mohamed Elneny

Elneny started and played the whole 90 minutes in the FA Cup win over Oxford United. But Arteta didn’t pick the Egyptian for the team that beat Tottenham 2-0. A knee problem he had in training before the game was being looked at. Also, there was no room on the bench for the game against Manchester United.

The club then said in a statement earlier this month that the former Basel player will be out for a long time, but they didn’t say when he would be back. Elneny has since signed a new contract with Arsenal and is getting closer to coming back.
