Born into a royal family anywhere in the world is a big deal, including in Nigeria. Being a royal like Sandra Okagbue means that such an individual is constantly exposed to the public view.

But when such an individual and other members of their family carve a niche for themselves in their professional lives and are recognised publicly as celebrities, then it becomes a bigger fish to fry for them as the public scrutiny on such people becomes quite heightened. Sandra Okagbue was born on December 1, 1985, into the royal family of the late Obi Ofala Okagbue, who was the Obi of Onitsha from 1970 to 2001. Okagbue hails from Onitsha, the commercial nerve centre of Anambra State.

She is the eldest of her parents six children. She has three sisters and twin brothers. Her other siblings are Bella, Christabel, Jane, Christian, and Christopher.

One of Sandra’s brothers, Christopher Okagbue, popularly known as Chris is both a model and an actor, who achieved fame when he was crowned “The Ultimate Man” and won the Gulder Ultimate Search Season 8. Her youngest sister, Bella Okagbue, is a model as well and contested in the seventh season of the reality show, Big Brother Naija, where she finished as the second runner-up.

Career

Okagbue rose to fame when she won the ‘Miss Delta Soap Pageant’ organised by Orange Drugs Limited. She appeared on television, billboards, handbills, newspapers, and calendars in 2010 and beyond as the face of Delta Soap.

Her appearance as a model for the Delta Soap brand made her one of the most sought-after models in Nigeria. Many modelling experts complimented her looks, with some claiming that she has the perfect face for television due to her spotless fair-skinned complexioned face. She has been in the modelling industry for over 20 years.

Asides from serving as a brand ambassador for the soap brand, Okagbue has starred in television advertisements for big-name companies, including Cadbury, Airtel, MTN, LG, and Globacom.

Okagbue is also an actress and has appeared in several movies. She once collaborated with her brother, Chris, as they produced the film Lotanna. Chris portrayed Lotanna, the main character in this film, who has to find a means to pay his father’s N20 million debt. Lotanna was forced to start thinking about how to get rich and pay off the debt from a young age or risk losing his life.

She is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Borderline Business Solutions Limited.

Controversies 

Okagbue and Anna Banner, another former beauty pageant winner and ex-Miss Nigeria, reportedly got into a fight over one of Nigeria’s most seductive musicians, Flavour. Anna may be the mother of another child by Flavour, who is also the father of Sandra’s two children.

Okagbue, by reports, has an estimated net worth of N30 million. She has raked in income over the years from her several acting and modelling gigs, as well as brand ambassadorship deals.

Okagbue is not married. However, she is the mother of two girls, Munachi Gabrielle Okoli and Kaima Okoli, following her affair with popular high-life musician, Chinedu Okoli, better known as Flavour N’abania. The duo reportedly began dating in 2013; however, their dating status currently is unclear. But sources claim that they are still close and remain tight friends.

The model-cum-actress was also once said to have dated a former Super Eagles captain and former Chelsea footballer, Mikel Obi. It was claimed that the duo was an item for quite a while, with rumour blogs going across the town speculating about a possible marriage between them. However, the rumours of their wedding gradually died down when it became clear who she was dating.
