Nobody is trying to take your place – Yul Edochie tenders public apology to first wife, May Yul-Edochie
Eights months after taking his colleague Judy Austin as second, embattled Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie, has tendered a public apology to his first wife, May Edochie.
Yul penned his apologies in a lengthy post he shared via Instagram on Wednesday where he explained that he didn’t mean to disrespect or replace May when he took a second wife.
Addressing her as “my dear wife, Queen May Yul-Edochie,” the actor while acknowledging the pains his actions has caused her, took responsibility for his actions and apologized.

His apology read in part;
I acknowledge that I hurt you deeply and I’ve apologized to you countless times.
I take the blame for my actions.
I agree with you that polygamy shouldn’t be forced on anyone.
You never bargained for it from the beginning neither did I.
But I guess life happens.
Yul also noted that he didn’t take a second wife to disrespect or replace her asked for her to forgive him and not hate him over one thing he has done wrong.
Priding himself as a loving husband and an exceptional father, Yul said he has been available for his kids and very supportive of her dreams.
Appealing to May for forgiveness, the actor assured that May that no one is taking her place as they can live peacefully and happily.
Yul brags as “proud polygamist’
Meanwhile, Yul made headlines two days ago when he has justified his action to become polygamous with a backup reference from a bible verse.
Edochie defended his decision “with his full chest” for the umpteenth time in an Instagram post on Sunday. The actor was in the news in April 2022 when he announced his marriage to Judy Austin Moghalu, his on-screen lover and colleague in Nollywood.
In a lengthy post which accompanied a single picture of him, Edochie claimed that God directed him to be a polygamist, quoting Exodus 21:10 as his inspiration. He said marrying two wives will help give his son a proper identity.
He admitted that his first wife, May Edochie, is not happy about his action, but he stressed that his second marriage has become a blessing to her.
