Morocco Becomes The First African Country To Qualify for The FIFA World Cup

History has finally become made as Morocco becomes the first African country to ever qualify for the semi-finals of the Men’s FIFA World cup after defeating star-studded Portugal by one goal to nil.

The defeat has however set the bar high as Africans have as well booked a spot in the Semi-Finals of the world cup.

The historic and decisive goal was scored by Youssef En-NesyriYahya at the dying minute of the first half of play. 

The win has earned 11 slots in the 2026 World Cup.

Morocco is unbeaten in this World Cup and has only conceded 1 goal.

In the group stage, Morocco becomes the first African country to top a FIFA World Cup since Nigeria in 1998 when Nigeria led group D with 6 points a group that consist of Nigeria, Paraguay, Spain, and Bulgaria.Morocco advanced to the last 16 at the World Cup for just the second time after clinging on for a 2-1 win over Canada on Friday.

The Moroccans’ only other trip past the group stage came in 1986.
