E-commerce company mixes up deliveries, sends cornflakes instead of cornflakes to 10-year-old girl as Christmas gift

A mother was left surprised when she unwrapped an Amazon parcel that should contain a laptop, only to discover it was full of cornflakes instead.

The mother, identified as Lizzie Pattison, from Lichfield, Staffordshire, United Kingdom, placed an order from the e-commerce company in October to give her 10-year-old daughter as a Christmas gift.

The lady bought the device to help Daisy with her SAT exams taking place next year and had kept the shipping box hidden.

When she found out that the parcel contained cornflakes, Amazon initially mentioned that the 30-day return period had passed and it would not investigate.

Pattison worried she would be left out of pocket; however, the e-commerce company has reportedly offered her a refund and a gift voucher that is worth 40 euros.

“My main fear is that they’ll be turns of kids that will open their Christmas gift and will be disappointed by what they find inside,” the woman said.
