Arteta to consider another talented premier League star to join Arsenal for a lesser fee.

Arsenal’s quest for bolstering their squad in the upcoming summer transfer window has led them to consider a move for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana, as reported by esteemed former Bleacher Report journalist Dean Jones.

With the intention of building upon their commendable Premier League campaign, the Gunners are also on the verge of securing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

However, Jones hints that Southampton’s midfield maestro Roméo Lavia is also being contemplated as an option by Arsenal, alongside Onana.

Regarding Onana’s potential transfer, Jones stated, “Lavia is on the list. So, I think that they are looking at that as an option.

I don’t think they are expecting that they’ll sign him, but they certainly are exploring it. I’ve heard they’re also considering Amadou Onana from Everton as well as a potential that they look into” (GIVEMESPORT, 20 June).

Considering the circumstances, Everton would be wise to retain the services of the Belgium midfielder, as he has undeniably been a standout performer for the club. Onana’s arrival last summer proved to be a masterstroke, making him an indispensable asset for the Toffees.

His current market value could easily exceed double the initial fee Everton paid for his acquisition, further accentuating his significance to the team.

Looking ahead, it is imperative that the decision-makers at Goodison Park adopt a proactive approach when it comes to recruitment.

Everton must break away from the habit of signing aging players on substantial contracts and instead focus on procuring young talents with considerable resale value.

The board cannot afford to entertain the thought of enduring another season battling relegation.

While the winds of change are blowing, it remains uncertain whether the presence of Bill Kenwright and Farhad Moshiri at the helm will yield substantial differences compared to past endeavors.

Evertonians deserve far more than what they are presently being offered by the ineptitude of those in charge of the club.

If Onana’s departure does materialize, it would join a growing list of woeful decisions, adding to the frustration felt by Everton supporters.
