After Dortmund’s game, Ferdinand tells Chelsea to get rid of Havertz, and he names a possible replacement.

Rio Ferdinand, a commentator for BT Sport, thinks that Chelsea manager Graham Potter should think about playing Joao Felix as a “false nine.”

The Blues had trouble scoring again in their 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund, and Rio Ferdinand thinks it might be time to take Kai Havertz off the team and try something else.

“I think you have someone like Joao Felix. You could look at him for that false-nine position. He is now the player on the Chelsea team with the most creativity. He has only been here for a short while. He looks like their most important player now. He might be the one you want to play a bigger part.

Felix himself missed two great chances on Wednesday night, which doesn’t bode well for his chances of starting up top by himself.

The Portuguese player could definitely play as a false nine, but it’s hard to see how that would help Chelsea score more goals.

Felix looks dangerous as the number 10, and what he really needs is a natural number nine in front of him. David Datro Fofana could be an option, but his lack of experience would work against him. Since Havertz is having trouble, a replacement will need to be found as soon as possible.
