Overwatch 2 is due out in less than a week. Here’s how to preload the game.
As players prepare to play Overwatch 2 in all its free-to-play glory, one of the most important steps for avid gamers is to preload the game before launch. Being one of the first players to jump into a game during its global release offers an incredible advantage. If you’re a quick learner, you can take on some of the newer, inexperienced players and take a step forward by working through the game’s all-new Battle Pass.
Check. Check and check.

Luckily, Blizzard has enabled preloading for Overwatch 2 on all applicable devices. Here’s when it becomes available.
PC Overwatch 2 players can pre-download the game on September 30th at 1:30pm PDT. The game will have a download size of around 50 GB. For players with automatic updates enabled on Battle.net, the download will happen automatically in the background. To download it manually, click the gear icon to the right of the play button and select “Check for updates”.
Unfortunately, console players can only pre-download the game on the day of release on October 4th at 9:00am PDT. The game will then go live on October 4th at approximately 12:00 PM PDT. Luckily the download size is expected to be smaller, at around 30GB.
