A recent tweet from MaxiqTV included a clip of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s aim assist, and fans of the long-running series shared how they felt.
Call of Duty is no stranger to aim assist, as it helps players on the controller hit their shots more consistently. The level of aim assist has changed between entries in the long-running series, but it seems that Modern Warfare 2 will take it up a notch.
I actually feel bad for MnK players in COD
Context from this clip: I literally didn’t even move my thumbstick to switch between targets. it was all aim assist… 🤯 pic.twitter.com/BRJT44IqUM

At first glance, the clip in question shows MaxiqYT quite deftly stalking his opponents with a burst of fire from his gun. However, given context, MaxiqYT reveals that he never moved his thumb on his controller, meaning the whole thing was because of aim assist.
While many people argue that aim assist is a much-needed part of a Call of Duty game, others believe it should be removed from the game entirely, stating that it blurs the line between actual skill and just computer-generated tracking.
While things could change ahead of official release, it appears that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will retain aim assist to help players stay consistent with their shots and pursuit.
