A recent listing hints that a brand-new Avatar: The Last Airbender game could launch on PlayStation consoles later this year. Even several years after the Legend of Korra spin-off aired its last episode, the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise is still well-regarded for its rich mythology, memorable characters, and surprisingly mature themes of war, prejudice, love, and friendship. There have also been several Avatar: The Last Airbender games over the years, with the most recent console release being a Legend of Korra title from Bayonetta studio Platinum Games in 2014.
Just a few months ago, it was reported that Avatar: The Last Airbender owner Paramount has several licensed games in development as part of a larger effort to expand the franchise with animated films and a live-action retelling of the original Avatar storyline. The first of these new games to be officially unveiled was Avatar: Generations, a mobile-based tactile RPG from Square Enix London Mobile and Navigator Games that will allow players to relive Aang’s quest to stop the tyrannical Fire Nation by engaging in squad-based battles and customizing their party of allies from across the four major nations of the Avatar: The Last Airbender world. Now, it is being rumored that a larger Avatar: The Last Airbender title is being developed for consoles – and it could be released later this year.

According to VGC, a new Avatar: The Last Airbender game subtitled Quest for Balance has been listed on Amazon Japan, with a release date marked for November 8. Not much else has been revealed about this new title, save that it is supposedly releasing on PS4 and PS5, and is being published by GameMill Entertainment – the company behind recent licensed titles like Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues and fighting hit Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
Back in February, it was rumored that Paramount’s Avatar Studios was licensing a console-based RPG set in the Avatar universe, and this seems to line up with the new reports of Avatar: The Last Airbender – Quest for Balance launching later this year. Meanwhile, publisher GameMill Entertainment is no stranger to the characters of the Avatar franchise, as Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl features Aang, Korra, and fan-favorite Earthbender Toph as playable combatants in a platforming brawler experience that some players feel rivals the Super Smash Bros. games it draws inspiration from.
Now it appears that GameMill Entertainment is bringing its experience with developing games based on beloved licensed properties to the larger world of Avatar: The Last Airbender with Quest for Balance, though it’s worth repeating that nothing about this new title has been revealed save for the fact that it seemingly exists and is being developed for PlayStation consoles. Assuming the project isn’t delayed, more information about Avatar: The Last Airbender: Quest For Balance will likely be unearthed ahead of its reported launch this November.
