2023 PRESIDENCY: REMARKS OF DR IYORCHIA AYU, PDP NATIONAL CHAIRMAN WHEN EX-SENATE PRESIDENT ANYIM PIUS ANYIM, ADDRESSED THE NWC TODAY (13TH/04/2022)

.

We sincerely thank one of our presidential aspirants, Anyim Pius Anyim, for the eloquent presentation.

It can only come from a PDP presidential aspirant. You can’t get it from other aspirants from the other political party because they don’t (and can’t) have such quality. So, we are very happy and proud to have you here.

Let me say up to this moment, we have 17 presidential aspirants who have bought nomination forms i.e. 16 men and a woman. It shows the strength and popularity of the PDP, Nigeria’s only organic party.

And I believe any of these 17 will make a very good president. They are much better than the misfortune we have gone through these past six plus years now.

It is my prayer that all our aspirants work together because it’s the unity of the party that will give us victory. I am very happy that Anyim Pius Anyim whom I knew in his very young age has become a man, a very successful public servant: Senator, Senate President, SFG etc.

It means our own generation is going out, and very soon, great people like Anyim, who have had great tutorship, will be taking over.

And the PDP is lucky to have so many of such quality people. And when we take over as a party next year (and we will), we shall not be running around looking for consultants. The reason is because the party has so many quality people with great capacity.

We pray and hope that one of you will rise up to the occasion and lead us to victory in 2023. We at the NWC here are only umpires, but we will make sure that, as in the PDP tradition, everything will be dome transparently.

At the end of the day, ordinary PDP members will determine who becomes our presidential candidate. And when they make that pronouncement, we pray and hope that everyone will abide by their decision as we have always done since 1999. And, together, we will rescue Nigeria.
