CONSTITUENTS HAIL SPEAKER, GBAJABIAMILA ON HON.BUBA’S C’MTTEE CHAIRMANSHIP

  Members of Gombi/Hong Federal Constituency of Adamawa State have described the choice of Honourable Yusuf Buba Yakub as Chairman,House of Representatives’ Committee on Foreign Affairs as a square peg in a square hole. In numerous congratulatory messages emanating from Hon.Buba’s Constituency and State since the list of Committee Chairmen and their Deputies was made public during House Plenary,Thursday,the Constituents lauded what they described as the eagle-eyes of Speaker Gbajabiamila and his team for choosing Hon.Buba who they pointed out had used his position as Chairman, Committee on Nigeria-China Relations to make the country proud by deepening friendship and economic ties with the Asian global giant. They also noted that Hon.Buba would draw from the rich experience he garnered from his previous position in the 8th Assembly when he turned what was merely a “Friendship Committee” to that of immense diplomatic and economic results for Nigeria. According to Dr Yusuf Balla of Albit Technology,an Agric Consulting firm in Hon. Buba’s home State: “Hon.Buba used his position as Chairman, Committee on Nigeria-China Relations in the last House to demonstrate strong visionary capacity in diplomacy and leadership. As a good Political Scientist and Entrepreneur he understands the direction the entire world is headed and it was easy for him to go in that direction. ” He attracted manufacturing industries from China,he solicited the employment of Nigerians, he called for the use of available raw materials in Nigeria and ,on behalf of government, won the trust of the Chinese business community to move millions of dollars into the country in form of foreign direct investment through the promise of various incentives. So,our people are full of thanks to Mr.Speaker and want to assure him that Hon.Buba will do us all proud in his new job.” The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila, yesterday at Plenary unveiled Chairmen and Deputies of about 105 Standing Committees of the House of Representatives,bringing to rest speculations that had persisted since the inauguration of the 9th House about who was going to chair what Committee.
